Principal's Welcome

I feel both honoured and privileged to lead St. David's College, a school with a proud history and an exciting future ahead. As we continue to grow and evolve, I am committed to providing the very best educational experience for all our students.

St. David's College is a Catholic Voluntary Secondary School under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST). We welcome students from every background and faith community, and this diversity is one of our greatest strengths. As part of the ERST network, we are proud to belong to a global community of schools that share a commitment to values rooted in faith, justice, and a sense of responsibility to others. Our successful Immersion Programme with Brother Beausang School in Nairobi, Kenya, is just one example of how we nurture a global outlook in our students.

One of the most significant developments in our school community has been our transition to a co-educational model. In 2024, we welcomed our first intake of both girls and boys, and from September 2025, we will have both boys and girls in 1st and 2nd year. This marks a new and exciting chapter in our journey, and we remain committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive, regardless of gender or background.

In addition to this, we have recently introduced state-of-the-art facilities, including our new Home Economics rooms, which will provide students with modern spaces to develop valuable life skills. These new spaces reflect our ongoing commitment to offering a dynamic and forward-thinking curriculum that meets the needs of today’s students.

Our philosophy at St. David’s College is built on a foundation of support, encouragement, and care. We are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded young adults who are confident, resilient, and equipped to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world. We focus not only on academic excellence but on fostering personal growth in every aspect of life—spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

We take pride in the atmosphere we have created here at St. David's, one of mutual respect, understanding, and kindness. Our strong sense of community is at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to promoting the well-being of all our students. Mindfulness and positive mental health are key aspects of our school culture, and we have developed a ‘telling’ culture where students always have someone to talk to, someone to confide in. We encourage resilience and emotional strength in all our students, helping them to become better equipped to handle life's challenges.

We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities to ensure that students have opportunities to excel beyond the classroom. Whether it’s in sport, music, drama, debating, or one of the many other clubs and societies we run, students are encouraged to participate, explore their passions, and develop a broad skill set. Our GAA, rugby, athletics teams, as well as the music and drama departments, provide students with the opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills that will serve them well in all aspects of life.

At St. David’s College, we believe the partnership between parents, students, and teachers is essential to the success of every student. We are committed to ensuring that your child is safe, supported, respected, and encouraged to achieve their full potential. I want to take this opportunity to thank all our parents for the trust they place in us, and for the ongoing support they provide in making our school a vibrant, positive place for all.

As you explore our website, I hope you will gain a sense of the unique and dynamic St. David’s College experience we offer. Whether you are a past pupil, a current member of our school community, or a prospective student or parent, we invite you to connect with us and learn more about what makes St. David's College such a special place to be.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you require any further information.

Warm regards,
